Book 42: The Four Tendencies

One of my goals for 2020 is to read more. What better way than to commit to reading one book a week? 52 books in 52 weeks and I’ll be sharing every single one on the blog, every Sunday. Check in for my latest reads and recommendations.

Just me here, still on the Gretchen Rubin train. “The Four Tendencies” was such a fascinating read, but I’ll be honest, I read two sections and scanned two. I am an obliged and Ryan is an upholder, so I really dove into those chapters and enjoyed sharing anecdotes I thought fit us to a T.

The “four tendencies” are essentially how much inner and outer motivation you posses. There are strengths in all categories and weaknesses in all categories and it’s fascinating how the categories interact.

I love the way Rubin has set up this book and segmented her chapters and sub chapters so specifically. It made for a very pleasant, informational read. I suggest everyone pick up this book and consider: which tendency are you?
