Book 27: Broken Things

One of my goals for 2020 is to read more. What better way than to commit to reading one book a week? 52 books in 52 weeks and I’ll be sharing every single one on the blog, every Sunday. Check in for my latest reads and recommendations.

I’ve been loving audio books lately! They make painting a room or moving logs so much better.

Broken Things was a great young-adult thriller. I was incredibly captivated by the story and the story within the story. Two girls, still dealing with the death of their childhood friend years later, need to solve the mystery once and for all. That and a strange children’s story leave you, the reader, guessing what’s going to happen next. There’s an element of fantasy, although realistic in its content.

I’m a big fan of young adult books and I feel that this one is very well written. The text is almost poetic and the voices and perspectives are rich and lively.
