Are you a member of the crispy cookie or the chewy cookie club? Well, I love a good crispy cookie- all the way. I’ve been trying to figure out a good recipe, kind of like a “Tate’s Chocolate Chip cheat” and these finally came out perfect!
Ways to ensure your cookies come out thin & crispy:
- Melt your butter!
- Use baking soda instead of baking powder
- Flatten your cookie dough once you roll it into a ball
- Cook a little longer!
Summer is here and it does stink to turn on the oven during these hot, hot days. However, if you need a treat everyone will love, this is your cookie!

Ingredients
1 stick of butter (melted)
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 c chocolate chips
Recipe
In a stand mixer, combine your butter, sugar, and eggs until blended and pale. In a separate bowl, whisk together your flour and baking soda. Gently combine your wet and dry ingredients until your dough is smooth. Then, add your chocolate chips.
Roll your dough into balls and flatten in your hand, dropping on a baking sheet with plenty of space between each ball. Cook at 350 degrees for 14-17 minutes, depending on your oven.
