Caitlin’s Cocktails: Red Summer Sangria

I think I’ve made it clear on this blog that I love red wine. However, a large glass isn’t always optimal on a hot summer night. The next beat thing is a fruity, tangy, red summer sangria.

A perfect drink for a party, easy to whip up in a pitcher ahead of time and stash in the fridge. Also, totally up for alterations. As long as you keep your base: red wine, clear liquor, and lots of fruit. If you’re looking for a new summer go-to, this is your drink.

Red Summer Sangria

In a large pitcher with ice, combine one bottle of red wine (see my favorites here) with 1 cup of your favorite clear liquor of choice. I go with tequila- always. Add two cups of frozen berries and let sit for at least an hour in the fridge. When ready to serve, top with seltzer water, fresh lemon, and orange.
