This is the final post for our London Itinerary and the final post for our European trip in full. Only took me two months.. whoops.
We knew that being in London meant we had to visit Buckingham Palace. It’s a spot where you stand with all the other tourists to get a quick photo, but also a spot that holds so much significance to the country.

Another spot of significance that was suggested to us time and time again was the Tower of London. My grandmother was adamant that we had to see the crown jewels and we were glad she pushed us to go. It was also really neat to walk up in some of the towers and hear some of the various histories of the Tower.

I wanted our last afternoon in London to be spent having afternoon tea and in my research I came across Afternoon Tea at the Wallace. At the time, I was reading that it was traditional and realistic in price. However, I had no idea that The Wallace is actually a museum itself. We showed up a little early for our reservation which ended up working out fine because there was so much to see!

The downstairs of The Wallace held a whole collection of medieval armor and weapons, including some of the oldest, full sets of armor in England. Upstairs there were beautifully decorated rooms with tons of paintings and portraits.
Then, as luck would have it, there was an exhibit by Manolo Blahnik, displaying some of the most amazing shoes. I felt a bit like Carrie Bradshaw, walking around and admiring the “shoe art.”

We really enjoyed our Afternoon Tea at the Wallace. I believe it was twenty euros a person and we each got a full pot of tea and plenty of food. I swear there is nothing better than fresh scones, jam, and clotted cream.

London was an experience like no other. I feel like we could have spent weeks there, exploring all the sites and I wish we had the opportunity to grab a bus or train to some of the little towns outside the city. However, that just means I have something to plan for next time we head ‘over the pond.’
